A NH Department of Transportation reorganization impact analysis led to the space planning and renovation of a 96,000sf existing building and the construction of a 36,000sf new building. Not only did the project bring the existing structure up to current building, life safety, energy and accessibility codes, but the space was also rearranged to accommodate the twenty-two Bureaus in a logical, efficient configuration that integrates with the new construction. Funding was approved in 1998 for a reduced scope of 18,000sf of new construction. The building remained occupied during construction and the project was completed in the Summer of 2001.
