Building on the success of a previous feasibility study and smaller scale renovation projects over the last several years, The Architects were retained by the Manchester Country Club to develop and implement a long rang plan to effectively address existing programmatic difficulties as well as deferred maintenance and repair issues. The resulting project scope includes an extensive reorganization, restoration, and renovation of the existing historic 32,000sf facility and a newly constructed 4,000sf Golf Facility building.
The heart of the renovation project is an expanded Ballroom sized to accommodate 300 person weddings with related pre-function capability and dedicated outdoor veranda and patio with 3-season event tent as well as an all-new Bridal Suite. The Kitchen was also fully renovated with new Food Prep and Cold Storage areas making use of the existing Basement. A small addition to the Member’s Dining allows private dining for business meetings or family gatherings.
The addition of an elevator allows for expanded access to the new Conference Center and Administration Offices upstairs. Highlights include two 75-person Lecture Halls and Boardroom with dedicated service bar and restroom facilities. An expansive roof deck overlooks the Course.
Member areas were also fully renovated with all new locker rooms and golf facilities. Enhanced amenities include sauna and steam room, private massage room, Men’s and Women’s Card rooms, a business hub, and a multipurpose area. The new golf facility building includes the expanded proshop and bag storage on the main floor with parking for the Club’s fleet of golf-carts down under and golf training/simulator rooms upstairs.
The project also includes the restoration of the building exterior and an energy efficiency upgrade with all new high performance windows and spray foam insulation as well as a highly efficient HVAC system and upgraded electrical service.
The project was completed June 2013 in time for the June weddings!
