Dennis Mires, P.A., The Architects, Manchester, NH is pleased to announce that their Family Resource Center and Shelter for Families in Transition (FIT) in downtown Manchester was recognized with an honor award from Plan NH in 2016. The Architects provided an energy conserving second floor addition to an underused existing building in the heart of the City to support FIT’s vital program. In addition to providing an emergency shelter for families, the Center provides a range of support services with community partners including job training and placement, a feeding program, legal assistance, trauma-informed pre school education, health services, clinical services and more. A broad based fundraising effort from the Community helped make this project a reality. It has become a transforming project for the neighborhood. Hutter Construction’s creative solutions to construction techniques and logistics allowed the project to be completed on time with an aggressive schedule and within budget in winter 2015.
