Dennis Mires, P.A., The Architects is pleased to announce the completion of the Town of Campton Municipal Offices. The Architects have worked with the Town of Campton since 2007 providing architectural and planning services in the development of a Town Office, Police and Fire facilities. The task involved collecting available data regarding the existing buildings, programs, and Town current and future needs incorporating the information into a planned and sensible renovation and building on a recently acquired site in town. The process included a public charette after meeting with Town department heads to translate the needs into a phased site plan of building and expansion. Site efficiencies were investigated including shared well, sewer, and heating plant. The planned new Highway Department garage was also included in the phase building. Future schemes were also developed to show a possible new library on the property. The Architects provided graphic materials for presentation at Town Meeting, April 2007, assisting the Campton Building Committee to obtain approval for additional funds to proceed with design documents and to place funds in a Capital Reserve Account for new town offices. After additional budget work, scope adjustments, and value engineering with Conneston Construction,Inc (CCI), the selected Construction Manager; and Kelly Bolger, the Town’s Project Manager, the project was presented to the Town at the March 2012 Town Meeting and approved for a spring start. The completed 8533 square foot building contains a Community Meeting Room, Kitchen, Selectmen’s Offices, and Police Department along with support spaces for shared departmental use. High efficiency design features were incorporated including thermally enhanced walls and ceilings and high performance windows.
